Linda Seybert Promotions started as a conversation over burgers with two of my favorite musicians who thought it would be a good idea for me to make a "few phone calls" on behalf of their band.  What, I protested, do I - a nurse - know about bluegrass, or even the music business for that matter.   You just have to make a few calls, they insisted.   That was the first lie.

This promoter has since discovered that promoting your favorite bluegrass band means hours of emails aligning 5 band members with venue dates, juggling contracts and compensation agreements, and being the liaison at shows between band and venue to ensure a smooth night.   I never needed to know who the father of bluegrass was, or have a degree in music marketing; my degree in nursing and my lifelong communications with a sick community was all the training I needed!

And I love it.

I love believing in the artists as much as they believe in themselves.  I love getting the band scheduled, sometimes to the venue's concern of potential draw, promoting the show, and the reward of a full house.  I love getting those call backs for a return date after a successful night.  And people noticed.   I am contacted at least weekly by artists who want my representation.

I now help with the career of a very talented singer-songwriter, and look forward to the start of a new show "Linda Seybert Promotions and PhillyEDGE present  Ladies on the EDGE",  featuring the 5 singer-songwriters who appear on the March 21st edition of PhillyEDGE.  Because of the energy I expend and the belief I must have in the artist, I believe in representing only a limited number of artists that I can devote the attention and time deserving of their talent.  Maybe that will be you.  Thanks for visiting my website.
